Fleishman Hillard chief Jim Donaldson joins 8020 Communications

We are delighted to announce that Jim Donaldson, one of the most respected leaders in the UK public relations industry, is joining 8020 Communications as non-executive director.

Until January, Jim served as UK and Middle East CEO for Fleishman Hillard, one of the world’s largest international PR agencies. Under his leadership from 2015, Fleishman Hillard moved from a second-tier position in the London large agency market to becoming a multi-award-winning, high-growth agency with an enviable client roster. Jim played a pivotal role in the agency’s success and its becoming an employer of choice in the UK PR industry. Previously, he held senior roles at international PR agencies Weber Shandwick and at Hill + Knowlton, where he led its operations in the Middle East. He was also chair of our industry association, the PRCA, from 2018 to 2020.

Jim will advise me and our senior team on ways to further capitalise on our strengths as a specialist consultancy for aviation, travel and mobility clients. He will be closely involved in our strategy for 8020’s continued expansion, including new services, international growth and talent development.

We share the same beliefs about delivering an exceptional client experience, creating a positive and stretching place to work, and the significant opportunities that exist for nimble, specialist consultancies at a time of consolidation amongst the largest players.

I have known Jim for many years and hugely admire his ability to build high-performing teams and enable agencies to deliver their best work. We’re very fortunate to have someone of his calibre to advise us and I’m excited about the new ways we will be able to serve 8020’s clients with his help.
