Media - 30th June 2015

The Financial Times is an important news outlet for the aviation industry covering airline and airport related news almost on a daily basis. Tanya Powley has just been appointed as Transport correspondent with responsibility for airlines and trains, taking over from Peggy Hollinger who is now Industry Editor at the FT. So who is Tanya Powley?

Tanya has been at the FT for six years, joining as a personal finance reporter at FT Money after working in Australia covering personal finance for the Australian Financial Review. At FT Money, Tanya specialised in mortgages and the housing market collecting a number of accolades from various award ceremonies, including Overall Property Journalist of the Year, The Consumer Mortgage Writer of the Year and The International Property Journalist of the Year, all in 2012 at the LSL Property Press Awards. She moved from FT Money in 2013 to Manufacturing correspondent at the same title before assuming her current position as the FT’s Transport Correspondent. Tanya covers planes and trains but not automobiles; you can find Tanya tweeting her own views to her 6,000-strong following @TanyaPowley.
