smart ideas for corporate social media

The ever-dependable Econsultancy has posted a great article by Matt Rhodes that discusses how employers should approach social media. It is an intelligently-written piece that doesn’t merely say that social media is great, period, but also considers potential pitfalls before outlining ways cautious employers can become more comfortable about social media use at work. You can read Matt’s article here.

At the same time, Management Today offers another idea to help companies manage the risks and rewards of embracing Twitter, Facebook et al. The magazine reports a call by risk management company Towers Watson for more companies to take out social media insurance, which would help protect a business should an employee’s tweets land it in hot water.
