September 9 2010, London – Leading European private jet company Ocean Sky is further strengthening the company’s maintenance service with the appointment of Paul Macintyre as engineering manager.
Macintyre will head Ocean Sky’s rapidly-expanding engineering operations at London Luton Airport, where the company is developing a new 46,000-square foot hangar facility.
Macintyre says: “My first task is clear: to take this hangar and ramp up to a fully-equipped and fully-functioning engineering facility by early 2011. We are already becoming busy with engineering work and we will have a full complement of staff by the end of the year.
“The operation will be focused on serving all of Bombardier’s business aircraft, from the Learjet family of light to mid-size jets through to the ultra-long-range Global aircraft.”
Macintyre, who has been an engineering shop floor supervisor with Ocean Sky for the past three years, has previously held positions at companies including British Aerospace, Hawker Beechcraft and Raytheon Aircraft Services. He is thrilled by the possibilities of his new role at Ocean Sky. “The chance to develop an engineering facility of this size at a London airport is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. This kind of prime location property almost never comes onto the market. We’ll be taking in business from Bombardier operators based all over the world.
“We’ll mainly be working with third-party aircraft but, of course, we’ll be handling the Bombardier aircraft in Ocean Sky’s managed fleet when required. And although we will be focusing on Bombardier jets initially, we will have the capability to serve other manufacturers’ aircraft.”
