KnowledgeBank, a subscription service, contains electronic articles and downloadable papers to update and support anyone working in information security or IT governance. The resource is continually updated with documents written by the IT Governance team, including Chief Executive Alan Calder and expert external contributors.

Early 2010 has already seen a range of fresh content added, including e-books, webinar presentations, expert articles and technical briefing papers.

New articles drawn from experts all over the world are added to the service each month. The most recent additions include analyses of subjects from Cloud Computing security and Web 2.0 threats to incident response.

A diverse range of webinar presentations have just been added to KnowledgeBank, including background to the concept of IT governance itself and a general introduction to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Indeed, an entire section of KnowledgeBank is devoted to articles on PCI DSS.

Each month sees a different ‘Critical Issue’ analysed on KnowledgeBank, with recent studies having included Green IT, social networking, coping with a pandemic and data protection. There are also technical briefing papers on subjects, such as the secure use of mobile storage devices, including laptops.

Calder says: “Subscribers to KnowledgeBank are given exclusive access to unique resources. We’re really looking forward to expanding and improving the service further throughout 2010.”

In particular, KnowledgeBank supports and updates the contents of IT Governance: A Manager’s Guide to Data Security and ISO27001/27002 (4th Edition). Anyone buying the book therefore receives 30 days of free KnowledgeBank access.
