Aviation - 17th June 2009

WICHITA, Kan., June 17, 2009Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, has awarded its Platinum Award to Northern Nevada Aviation for exceptional performance in the Cessna Pilot Center (CPC) network. The award was presented by Cessna CPC Western Regional Manager Jim Pitman to Northern Nevada Aviation owner and CEO Patrick Johnston at the Cessna Pilot Center Seminar in June in San Diego, Calif.

“Northern Nevada Aviation is one of the finest CPCs in the country,” Pitman said. “This Platinum Award is Cessna’s acknowledgement of the hard work and dedication so evident in all of their activities.”

Located at Reno-Tahoe International Airport in Reno, Nev., Northern Nevada Aviation currently operates a total of four Cessnas and has a SkyCatcher on order.

In presenting the Platinum Award, Cessna considers a number of factors in evaluating CPC performance including facilities, training, equipment and general operations.

Cessna’s extensive network of approximately 280 CPCs around the world was established more than 35 years ago. The average time for customers to obtain a private pilot certificate while using Cessna’s computer-based instruction training course is only 55 hours, approximately 30 percent less than the national average, resulting in less expense for the customer and a more efficient learning process.
