Cessna Announces Supplier Award Winners

Aviation - 16th November 2009

WICHITA, Kan., Nov., 16, 2009 – Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announced its annual STARS award to 28 suppliers, including three – AAR Corp-Composites located in Clearwater, Fla., ACS Products Company/Davis Air located in Wichita, Kan., and Lee Air, Inc. located in Wichita, Kan. – who obtained the gold level for outstanding performance excellence.

The award is part of a Supplier Tracking and Rating System called STARS, which is a Supply Chain Management scorecard that measures direct material suppliers on a 12-month rolling average in the areas of quality, reliability, schedule and cost. Suppliers with a rating of one in all categories are a gold level and those rated two are a silver level.

“Cessna’s supplier tracking and rating system is a key cornerstone on how we influence the behavior of the supply base and meet our end customer’s expectations,” said Brent Edmisten, Cessna’s director of strategic sourcing.

Suppliers who meet the performance expectations of Cessna’s customers are given additional opportunities for new programs. This performance recognition program is supporting Cessna’s effort of being the “customer of choice” for its suppliers.
