aPRO spring meeting

Attended the spring drinks bash of the Airline Public Relations Organisation. A West End hotel, a room full of hacks and PRs and a drinks tab picked up by Aage Dünhaupt of Lufthansa – what’s not to like?!

It was lots of fun and a great opportunity to talk shop, if not too seriously. Proving that personal relationships still count for a lot in PR, we came away with one lasting insight from a chardonnay-fuelled conversation with one of the UK’s busiest travel trade journalists:

80:20 – “So why can we never get you to come back on anything to do with [client name]?”

Hack – “Well, to tell you the truth, I just can’t f***ing stand technology.”

Right then!
