Julian Goldsmith has joined CIO as online editor, replacing Mark Chillingworth, who has become editor-in-chief at the title. Julian was previously at CBSi where he was deputy editor for BNET UK.

Karl West, city news editor at the Daily Mail, is joining The Sunday Times as senior business reporter in December, covering the transport, defence and industrial sectors. Karl has been at the Daily Mail since 2006 and before that was city editor of The Herald.

In any good newspaper or magazine, many stories are competing to appear in a limited amount of space. Unsurprisingly, therefore, editors love stories that can be expressed with clarity and concision. Editors hate wasted words. (more…)
