Totally agree with your comments and here are some other reasons for blogging:

1. To educate or provide valuable content to your customers or potential customers
2. Become an authority in a particular area/subject/niche
3. Generate some residual/passive income via some like AdSense
4. Purely for search engine purposes (i.e. to get the content indexed &amp; found)
